Quran 41:27

Surah Fussilat, Verse 27

فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَسْوَأَ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Word by word

فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ falanudhīqanna But surely We will cause to taste ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who كَفَرُوا۟ kafarū disbelieve عَذَابًۭا ʿadhāban a punishment شَدِيدًۭا shadīdan severe وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ walanajziyannahum and surely We will recompense them أَسْوَأَ aswa-a (the) worst ٱلَّذِى alladhī (of) what كَانُوا۟ kānū they used to يَعْمَلُونَ yaʿmalūna do

Transliteration

Falanutheeqanna allatheenakafaroo AAathaban shadeedan walanajziyannahum aswaa allatheekanoo yaAAmaloon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

But verily We shall cause those who disbelieve to taste an awful doom, and verily We shall requite them the worst of what they used to do.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

But We will certainly give the Unbelievers a taste of a severe Penalty, and We will requite them for the worst of their deeds.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ثم قال تعالى : منتصرا للقرآن ، ومنتقما ممن عاداه من أهل الكفران : ( فلنذيقن الذين كفروا عذابا شديدا ) أي : في مقابلة ما اعتمدوه في القرآن وعند سماعه ، ( ولنجزينهم أسوأ الذي كانوا يعملون ) أي : بشر أعمالهم وسيئ أفعالهم
