Quran 46:34

Surah Al-Ahqaf, Verse 34

وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

Word by word

وَيَوْمَ wayawma And (the) Day يُعْرَضُ yuʿ'raḍu are exposed ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who كَفَرُوا۟ kafarū disbelieved عَلَى ʿalā to ٱلنَّارِ l-nāri the Fire أَلَيْسَ alaysa Is not هَـٰذَا hādhā this بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ bil-ḥaqi the truth قَالُوا۟ qālū They will say بَلَىٰ balā Yes وَرَبِّنَا ۚ warabbinā by our Lord قَالَ qāla He will say فَذُوقُوا۟ fadhūqū Then taste ٱلْعَذَابَ l-ʿadhāba the punishment بِمَا bimā because كُنتُمْ kuntum you used to تَكْفُرُونَ takfurūna disbelieve

Transliteration

Wayawma yuAAradu allatheenakafaroo AAala annari alaysa hatha bilhaqqiqaloo bala warabbina qala fathooqooalAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroon

Translations

And on the day when those who disbelieve are exposed to the Fire (they will be asked): Is not this real? They will say: Yea, by our Lord. He will say: Then taste the doom for that ye disbelieved.

And on the Day that the Unbelievers will be placed before the Fire, (they will be asked,) "Is this not the Truth?" they will say, "Yea, by our Lord!" (One will say:) "Then taste ye the Penalty, for that ye were wont to deny (Truth)!"

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ثم قال متهددا ومتوعدا لمن كفر به : ( ويوم يعرض الذين كفروا على النار أليس هذا بالحق ) أي : يقال لهم : أما هذا حق ؟ أفسحر هذا ؟ أم أنتم لا تبصرون ؟ ( قالوا بلى وربنا ) أي : لا يسعهم إلا الاعتراف ، ( قال فذوقوا العذاب بما كنتم تكفرون ) ثم قال تعالى آمرا رسوله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - بالصبر على تكذيب من كذبه من قومه
