Quran 46:33

Surah Al-Ahqaf, Verse 33

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَمْ يَعْىَ بِخَلْقِهِنَّ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Word by word

أَوَلَمْ awalam Do not يَرَوْا۟ yaraw they see أَنَّ anna that ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah ٱلَّذِى alladhī (is) the One Who خَلَقَ khalaqa created ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضَ wal-arḍa and the earth وَلَمْ walam and (was) not يَعْىَ yaʿya tired بِخَلْقِهِنَّ bikhalqihinna by their creation بِقَـٰدِرٍ biqādirin (is) able عَلَىٰٓ ʿalā to give life أَن an to give life يُحْـِۧىَ yuḥ'yiya to give life ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ ۚ l-mawtā (to) the dead بَلَىٰٓ balā Yes إِنَّهُۥ innahu indeed He عَلَىٰ ʿalā (is) on كُلِّ kulli every شَىْءٍۢ shayin thing قَدِيرٌۭ qadīrun All-Powerful

Transliteration

Awa lam yaraw anna Allaha allatheekhalaqa assamawati wal-ardawalam yaAAya bikhalqihinna biqadirin AAala an yuhyiyaalmawta bala innahu AAala kulli shay-inqadeer

Translations

Have they not seen that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and was not wearied by their creation, is Able to give life to the dead? Aye, He verily is Able to do all things.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

See they not that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and never wearied with their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yea, verily He has power over all things.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يقول تعالى : ( أولم يروا ) أي : هؤلاء المنكرون للبعث يوم القيامة ، المستبعدون لقيام الأجساد يوم المعاد ( أن الله الذي خلق السماوات والأرض ولم يعي بخلقهن ) أي : ولم يكرثه خلقهن ، بل قال لها : " كوني " فكانت ، بلا ممانعة ولا مخالفة ، بل طائعة مجيبة خائفة وجلة ، أفليس ذلك بقادر على أن يحيي الموتى ؟ كما قال في الآية الأخرى : ( لخلق السماوات والأرض أكبر من خلق الناس ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون ) [ غافر : 57 ] ، ولهذا قال : ( بلى إنه على كل شيء قدير ) .
