Quran 47:17
Surah Muhammad, Verse 17

وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَءَاتَىٰهُمْ تَقْوَىٰهُمْ
Word by word
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna And those who ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ ih'tadaw accept guidance زَادَهُمْ zādahum He increases them هُدًۭى hudan (in) guidance وَءَاتَىٰهُمْ waātāhum and gives them تَقْوَىٰهُمْ taqwāhum their righteousness
Transliteration
Wallatheena ihtadaw zadahumhudan waatahum taqwahum
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
While as for those who walk aright, He addeth to their guidance, and giveth them their protection (against evil).
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of) Guidance, and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil).
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
ثم قال : ( والذين اهتدوا زادهم هدى ) أي : والذين قصدوا الهداية وفقهم الله لها فهداهم إليها ، وثبتهم عليها وزادهم منها ، ( وآتاهم تقواهم ) أي : ألهمهم رشدهم .
