Quran 47:32

Surah Muhammad, Verse 32

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَشَآقُّوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ

Word by word

إِنَّ inna Indeed ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who كَفَرُوا۟ kafarū disbelieve وَصَدُّوا۟ waṣaddū and turn away عَن ʿan from سَبِيلِ sabīli (the) way of Allah ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (the) way of Allah وَشَآقُّوا۟ washāqqū and oppose ٱلرَّسُولَ l-rasūla the Messenger مِنۢ min after بَعْدِ baʿdi after مَا mā [what] تَبَيَّنَ tabayyana (has been) made clear لَهُمُ lahumu to them ٱلْهُدَىٰ l-hudā the guidance لَن lan never يَضُرُّوا۟ yaḍurrū will they harm ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah شَيْـًۭٔا shayan (in) anything وَسَيُحْبِطُ wasayuḥ'biṭu and He will make worthless أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ aʿmālahum their deeds

Transliteration

Inna allatheena kafaroo wasaddooAAan sabeeli Allahi washaqqoo arrasoola minbaAAdi ma tabayyana lahumu alhuda lan yadurooAllaha shay-an wasayuhbitu aAAmalahum

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Lo! those who disbelieve and turn from the way of Allah and oppose the messenger after the guidance hath been manifested unto them, they hurt Allah not a jot, and He will make their actions fruitless.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يخبر تعالى عمن كفر وصد عن سبيل الله ، وخالف الرسول وشاقه ، وارتد عن الإيمان من بعد ما تبين له الهدى : أنه لن يضر الله شيئا ، وإنما يضر نفسه ويخسرها يوم معادها ، وسيحبط الله عمله فلا يثيبه على سالف ما تقدم من عمله الذي عقبه بردته مثقال بعوضة من خير ، بل يحبطه ويمحقه بالكلية ، كما أن الحسنات يذهبن السيئات .
