Quran 48:6

Surah Al-Fath, Verse 6

وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَٱلْمُشْرِكَٰتِ ٱلظَّآنِّينَ بِٱللَّهِ ظَنَّ ٱلسَّوْءِ عَلَيْهِمْ دَآئِرَةُ ٱلسَّوْءِ وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَنَهُمْ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا

Word by word

وَيُعَذِّبَ wayuʿadhiba And He (may) punish ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ l-munāfiqīna the hypocrite men وَٱلْمُنَـٰفِقَـٰتِ wal-munāfiqāti and the hypocrite women وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ wal-mush'rikīna and the polytheist men وَٱلْمُشْرِكَـٰتِ wal-mush'rikāti and the polytheist women ٱلظَّآنِّينَ l-ẓānīna who assume بِٱللَّهِ bil-lahi about Allah ظَنَّ ẓanna an assumption ٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ l-sawi evil عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim Upon them دَآئِرَةُ dāiratu (is) a turn ٱلسَّوْءِ ۖ l-sawi (of) evil وَغَضِبَ waghaḍiba and Allah's wrath (is) ٱللَّهُ l-lahu and Allah's wrath (is) عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim upon them وَلَعَنَهُمْ walaʿanahum and He has cursed them وَأَعَدَّ wa-aʿadda and prepared لَهُمْ lahum for them جَهَنَّمَ ۖ jahannama Hell وَسَآءَتْ wasāat and evil مَصِيرًۭا maṣīran (is the) destination

Transliteration

WayuAAaththiba almunafiqeena walmunafiqatiwalmushrikeena walmushrikati aththanneenabillahi thanna assaw-iAAalayhim da-iratu assaw-i waghadiba AllahuAAalayhim walaAAanahum waaAAadda lahum jahannama wasaat maseera

Translations

And may punish the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women, and the idolatrous men and the idolatrous women, who think an evil thought concerning Allah. For them is the evil turn of fortune, and Allah is wroth against them and hath cursed them, and hath made ready for them hell, a hapless journey's end.

And that He may punish the Hypocrites, men and women, and the Polytheists men and women, who imagine an evil opinion of Allah. On them is a round of Evil: the Wrath of Allah is on them: He has cursed them and got Hell ready for them: and evil is it for a destination.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( ويعذب المنافقين والمنافقات والمشركين والمشركات الظانين بالله ظن السوء ) أي : يتهمون الله في حكمه ، ويظنون بالرسول وأصحابه أن يقتلوا ويذهبوا بالكلية ; ولهذا قال : ( عليهم دائرة السوء وغضب الله عليهم ولعنهم ) أي : أبعدهم من رحمته ( وأعد لهم جهنم وساءت مصيرا ) .
