Surah Adh-Dhaariyat, Verse 14

ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
Word by word
ذُوقُوا۟ dhūqū Taste فِتْنَتَكُمْ fit'natakum your trial هَـٰذَا hādhā This ٱلَّذِى alladhī (is) what كُنتُم kuntum you were بِهِۦ bihi for it تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ tastaʿjilūna seeking to hasten
Transliteration
Thooqoo fitnatakum hatha allatheekuntum bihi tastaAAjiloon
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
(And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten.

"Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!"
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
( ذوقوا فتنتكم ) : قال مجاهد : حريقكم . وقال غيره : عذابكم . ( هذا الذي كنتم به تستعجلون ) : أي : يقال لهم ذلك تقريعا وتوبيخا وتحقيرا وتصغيرا .
