Surah Adh-Dhaariyat, Verse 24

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ

Word by word

هَلْ hal Has أَتَىٰكَ atāka reached you حَدِيثُ ḥadīthu (the) narration ضَيْفِ ḍayfi (of the) guests إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ib'rāhīma (of) Ibrahim ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ l-muk'ramīna the honored

Transliteration

Hal ataka hadeethu dayfiibraheema almukrameen

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

هذه القصة قد تقدمت في سورة " هود " و " الحجر " أيضا . وقوله : ( هل أتاك حديث ضيف إبراهيم المكرمين ) أي : الذين أرصد لهم الكرامة . وقد ذهب الإمام أحمد وطائفة من العلماء إلى وجوب الضيافة للنزيل ، وقد وردت السنة بذلك كما هو ظاهر التنزيل .
