Quran 51:59

Surah Adh-Dhaariyat, Verse 59

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ

Word by word

فَإِنَّ fa-inna So indeed لِلَّذِينَ lilladhīna for those who ظَلَمُوا۟ ẓalamū do wrong ذَنُوبًۭا dhanūban (is) a portion مِّثْلَ mith'la like ذَنُوبِ dhanūbi (the) portion أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ aṣḥābihim (of) their companions فَلَا falā so let them not ask Me to hasten يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ yastaʿjilūni so let them not ask Me to hasten

Transliteration

Fa-inna lillatheena thalamoothanooban mithla thanoobi as-habihimfala yastaAAjiloon

Translations

And lo! for those who (now) do wrong there is an evil day like unto the evil day (which came for) their likes (of old); so let them not ask Me to hasten on (that day).

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

For the Wrong-doers, their portion is like unto the portion of their fellows (of earlier generations): then let them not ask Me to hasten (that portion)!

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( فإن للذين ظلموا ذنوبا ) أي : نصيبا من العذاب ، ( مثل ذنوب أصحابهم فلا يستعجلون ) أي : فلا يستعجلون ذلك ، فإنه واقع [ بهم ] لا محالة .
