Quran 6:127

Surah Al-An'aam, Verse 127

لَهُمْ دَارُ ٱلسَّلَٰمِ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

Word by word

۞ لَهُمْ lahum For them دَارُ dāru (will be) home ٱلسَّلَـٰمِ l-salāmi (of) [the] peace عِندَ ʿinda with رَبِّهِمْ ۖ rabbihim their Lord وَهُوَ wahuwa And He وَلِيُّهُم waliyyuhum (will be) their protecting friend بِمَا bimā because كَانُوا۟ kānū (of what) they used to يَعْمَلُونَ yaʿmalūna do

Transliteration

Lahum daru assalamiAAinda rabbihim wahuwa waliyyuhum bima kanooyaAAmaloon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

For them is the abode of peace with their Lord. He will be their Protecting Friend because of what they used to do.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

For them will be a home of peace in the presence of their Lord: He will be their friend, because they practised (righteousness).

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

( لهم دار السلام ) وهي : الجنة ، ( عند ربهم ) أي : يوم القيامة . وإنما وصف الله الجنة هاهنا بدار السلام لسلامتهم فيما سلكوه من الصراط المستقيم ، المقتفي أثر الأنبياء وطرائقهم ، فكما سلموا من آفات الاعوجاج أفضوا إلى دار السلام .

( وهو وليهم ) أي : والسلام - وهو الله - وليهم ، أي : حافظهم وناصرهم ومؤيدهم ، ( بما كانوا يعملون ) أي : جزاء على أعمالهم الصالحة تولاهم وأثابهم الجنة ، بمنه وكرمه .
