Quran 6:21

Surah Al-An'aam, Verse 21

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

Word by word

وَمَنْ waman And who أَظْلَمُ aẓlamu (is) more unjust مِمَّنِ mimmani than (he) who ٱفْتَرَىٰ if'tarā invents عَلَى ʿalā against ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah كَذِبًا kadhiban a lie أَوْ aw or كَذَّبَ kadhaba rejects بِـَٔايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۗ biāyātihi His Signs إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed لَا lā not يُفْلِحُ yuf'liḥu will be successful ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ l-ẓālimūna the wrongdoers

Transliteration

Waman athlamu mimmani iftaraAAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththababi-ayatihi innahu la yuflihu aththalimoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Who doth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah or denieth His revelations? Lo! the wrongdoers will not be successful.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Who doth more wrong than he who inventeth a lie against Allah or rejecteth His signs? But verily the wrong-doers never shall prosper.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ثم قال : ( ومن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا أو كذب بآياته ) أي : لا أظلم ممن تقول على الله ، فادعى أن الله أرسله ولم يكن أرسله ، ثم لا أظلم ممن كذب بآيات الله وحججه وبراهينه ودلالاته ( إنه لا يفلح الظالمون ) أي : لا يفلح هذا ولا هذا ، لا المفتري ولا المكذب .
