Quran 6:34

Surah Al-An'aam, Verse 34

وَلَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَصَبَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا كُذِّبُوا۟ وَأُوذُوا۟ حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰهُمْ نَصْرُنَا وَلَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكَ مِن نَّبَإِى۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Word by word

وَلَقَدْ walaqad And surely كُذِّبَتْ kudhibat were rejected رُسُلٌۭ rusulun Messengers مِّن min from قَبْلِكَ qablika before you فَصَبَرُوا۟ faṣabarū but they were patient عَلَىٰ ʿalā over مَا mā what كُذِّبُوا۟ kudhibū they were rejected وَأُوذُوا۟ waūdhū and they were harmed حَتَّىٰٓ ḥattā until أَتَىٰهُمْ atāhum came to them نَصْرُنَا ۚ naṣrunā Our help وَلَا walā And no مُبَدِّلَ mubaddila one (can) alter لِكَلِمَـٰتِ likalimāti (the) words ٱللَّهِ ۚ l-lahi (of) Allah وَلَقَدْ walaqad and surely جَآءَكَ jāaka has come to you مِن min of نَّبَإِى۟ naba-i (the) news ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ l-mur'salīna (of) the Messengers

Transliteration

Walaqad kuththibat rusulun minqablika fasabaroo AAala ma kuththiboowaoothoo hatta atahum nasrunawala mubaddila likalimati Allahi walaqad jaakamin naba-i almursaleen

Translations

Messengers indeed have been denied before thee, and they were patient under the denial and the persecution till Our succour reached them. There is none to alter the decisions of Allah. Already there hath reached thee (somewhat) of the tidings of the messengers (We sent before).

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Rejected were the messengers before thee: with patience and constancy they bore their rejection and their wrongs, until Our aid did reach them: there is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of Allah. Already hast thou received some account of those messengers.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله ( ولقد كذبت رسل من قبلك فصبروا على ما كذبوا وأوذوا حتى أتاهم نصرنا ولا مبدل لكلمات الله ) هذه تسلية للنبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وتعزية له فيمن كذبه من قومه ، وأمر له بالصبر كما صبر أولو العزم من الرسل ، ووعد له بالنصر كما نصروا ، وبالظفر حتى كانت لهم العاقبة ، بعد ما نالهم من التكذيب من قومهم والأذى البليغ ، ثم جاءهم النصر في الدنيا ، كما لهم النصر في الآخرة ; ولهذا قال : ( ولا مبدل لكلمات الله ) أي : التي كتبها بالنصر في الدنيا والآخرة لعباده المؤمنين ، كما قال : ( ولقد سبقت كلمتنا لعبادنا المرسلين إنهم لهم المنصورون وإن جندنا لهم الغالبون ) [ الصافات : 171 - 173 ] ، وقال تعالى : ( كتب الله لأغلبن أنا ورسلي إن الله قوي عزيز ) [ المجادلة : 21 ] .

وقوله : ( ولقد جاءك من نبإ المرسلين ) أي : من خبرهم كيف نصروا وأيدوا على من كذبهم من قومهم ، فلك فيهم أسوة وبهم قدوة .
