Quran 10:104

Surah Yunus, Verse 104

قُلْ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِن كُنتُمْ فِى شَكٍّ مِّن دِينِى فَلَآ أَعْبُدُ ٱلَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنْ أَعْبُدُ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Word by word

قُلْ qul Say يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا yāayyuhā O mankind ٱلنَّاسُ l-nāsu O mankind إِن in If كُنتُمْ kuntum you are فِى fī in شَكٍّۢ shakkin doubt مِّن min of دِينِى dīnī my religion فَلَآ falā then not أَعْبُدُ aʿbudu I worship ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those whom تَعْبُدُونَ taʿbudūna you worship مِن min besides Allah دُونِ dūni besides Allah ٱللَّهِ l-lahi besides Allah وَلَـٰكِنْ walākin but أَعْبُدُ aʿbudu I worship ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah ٱلَّذِى alladhī the One Who يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ ۖ yatawaffākum causes you to die وَأُمِرْتُ wa-umir'tu And I am commanded أَنْ an that أَكُونَ akūna I be مِنَ mina of ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ l-mu'minīna the believers

Transliteration

Qul ya ayyuha annasuin kuntum fee shakkin min deenee fala aAAbudu allatheenataAAbudoona min dooni Allahi walakin aAAbudu Allahaallathee yatawaffakum waomirtu an akoona minaalmu/mineen

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Say (O Muhammad): O mankind! If ye are in doubt of my religion, then (know that) I worship not those whom ye worship instead of Allah, but I worship Allah Who causeth you to die, and I have been commanded to be of the believers.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Say: "O ye men! If ye are in doubt as to my religion, (behold!) I worship not what ye worship, other than Allah! But I worship Allah - Who will take your souls (at death): I am commanded to be (in the ranks) of the Believers,

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

يقول تعالى لرسوله محمد ، صلوات الله وسلامه عليه : قل : يا أيها الناس ، إن كنتم في شك من صحة ما جئتكم من الدين الحنيف ، الذي أوحاه الله إلي ، فها أنا لا أعبد الذين تعبدون من دون الله ، ولكن أعبد الله وحده لا شريك له ، وهو الذي يتوفاكم كما أحياكم ، ثم إليه مرجعكم ؛ فإن كانت آلهتكم التي تدعون من دون الله حقا ، فأنا لا أعبدها فادعوها فلتضرني ، فإنها لا تضر ولا تنفع ، وإنما الذي بيده الضر والنفع هو الله وحده لا شريك له ، وأمرت أن أكون من المؤمنين .
