Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 36

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
Word by word
قَالَ qāla He said رَبِّ rabbi O my Lord فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ fa-anẓir'nī Then give me respite إِلَىٰ ilā till يَوْمِ yawmi (the) Day يُبْعَثُونَ yub'ʿathūna they are raised
Transliteration
Qala rabbi faanthirneeila yawmi yubAAathoon
Translations

He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
(Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised."
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
وعن سعيد بن جبير أنه قال: لما لعن الله إبليس تغيرت صورته عن صورة الملائكة ورن رنة فكل رنة في الدنيا إلى يوم القيامة منها.
رواه ابن أبي حاتم وأنه لما تحقق الغضب الذي لا مرد له سأل من تمام حسده لآدم وذريته النظِرة إلى يوم القيامة وهو يوم البعث.
