Quran 15:4
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 4

وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
Word by word
وَمَآ wamā And not أَهْلَكْنَا ahlaknā We destroyed مِن min any قَرْيَةٍ qaryatin town إِلَّا illā but وَلَهَا walahā (there was) for it كِتَابٌۭ kitābun a decree مَّعْلُومٌۭ maʿlūmun known
Transliteration
Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illawalaha kitabun maAAloom
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Never did We destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand.
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
يخبر تعالى أنه ما أهلك قرية إلا بعد قيام الحجة عليها وانتهاء أجلها.
