Quran 15:78
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 78

وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ
Word by word
وَإِن wa-in And were كَانَ kāna And were أَصْحَـٰبُ aṣḥābu (the) companions ٱلْأَيْكَةِ l-aykati (of) the wood لَظَـٰلِمِينَ laẓālimīna surely wrongdoers
Transliteration
Wa-in kana as-habual-aykati lathalimeen
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers;
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
صحاب الأيكة : هم قوم شعيب .
قال الضحاك ، وقتادة وغيرهما : الأيكة : الشجر الملتف .
وكان ظلمهم بشركهم بالله وقطعهم الطريق ، ونقصهم المكيال والميزان
