Quran 15:8
Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 8

مَا نُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُوٓا۟ إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ
Word by word
مَا mā Not نُنَزِّلُ nunazzilu We send down ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ l-malāikata the Angels إِلَّا illā except بِٱلْحَقِّ bil-ḥaqi with the truth وَمَا wamā and not كَانُوٓا۟ kānū they would be إِذًۭا idhan then مُّنظَرِينَ munẓarīna given respite
Transliteration
Ma nunazzilu almala-ikata illabilhaqqi wama kanoo ithan munthareen
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have!
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
وكذا قال في هذه الآية : ( ما ننزل الملائكة إلا بالحق وما كانوا إذا منظرين )
وقال مجاهد في قوله : ( ما ننزل الملائكة إلا بالحق ) بالرسالة والعذاب .
