قَالَ لَا تُؤَاخِذْنِى بِمَا نَسِيتُ وَلَا تُرْهِقْنِى مِنْ أَمْرِى عُسْرًا

قَالَ qāla He said لَا lā (Do) not تُؤَاخِذْنِى tuākhidh'nī blame me بِمَا bimā for what نَسِيتُ nasītu I forgot وَلَا walā and (do) not تُرْهِقْنِى tur'hiq'nī be hard (upon) me مِنْ min in أَمْرِى amrī my affair عُسْرًۭا ʿus'ran (raising) difficulty
Transliteration
Qala la tu-akhithneebima naseetu wala turhiqnee min amree AAusra
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
(Moses) said: Be not wroth with me that I forgot, and be not hard upon me for my fault.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Moses said: "Rebuke me not for forgetting, nor grieve me by raising difficulties in my case."
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
( قال ) أي موسى : ( لا تؤاخذني بما نسيت ولا ترهقني من أمري عسرا ) أي : لا تضيق علي وتشدد علي ؛ ولهذا تقدم في الحديث عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال : " كانت الأولى من موسى نسيانا " .
