Quran 23:27

Surah Al-Muminoon, Verse 27

فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ أَنِ ٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ فَٱسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَا تُخَٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ

Word by word

فَأَوْحَيْنَآ fa-awḥaynā So We inspired إِلَيْهِ ilayhi to him أَنِ ani That ٱصْنَعِ iṣ'naʿi construct ٱلْفُلْكَ l-ful'ka the ship بِأَعْيُنِنَا bi-aʿyuninā under Our eyes وَوَحْيِنَا wawaḥyinā and Our inspiration فَإِذَا fa-idhā then when جَآءَ jāa comes أَمْرُنَا amrunā Our Command وَفَارَ wafāra and gushes forth ٱلتَّنُّورُ ۙ l-tanūru the oven فَٱسْلُكْ fa-us'luk then put فِيهَا fīhā into it مِن min of كُلٍّۢ kullin every (kind) زَوْجَيْنِ zawjayni (of) mates ٱثْنَيْنِ ith'nayni two وَأَهْلَكَ wa-ahlaka and your family إِلَّا illā except مَن man those سَبَقَ sabaqa (has) preceded عَلَيْهِ ʿalayhi against whom ٱلْقَوْلُ l-qawlu the Word مِنْهُمْ ۖ min'hum thereof وَلَا walā And (do) not تُخَـٰطِبْنِى tukhāṭib'nī address Me فِى fī concerning ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۖ ẓalamū wronged إِنَّهُم innahum indeed, they مُّغْرَقُونَ mugh'raqūna (are) the ones to be drowned

Transliteration

Faawhayna ilayhi ani isnaAAialfulka bi-aAAyunina wawahyina fa-ithajaa amruna wafara attannooru faslukfeeha min kullin zawjayni ithnayni waahlaka illaman sabaqa AAalayhi alqawlu minhum wala tukhatibneefee allatheena thalamoo innahum mughraqoon

Then We inspired in him, saying: Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration. Then, when Our command cometh and the oven gusheth water, introduce therein of every (kind) two spouses, and thy household save him thereof against whom the Word hath already gone forth. And plead not with Me on behalf of those who have done wrong. Lo! they will be drowned.

So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the Ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood).

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

فعند ذلك أمره الله تعالى بصنعة السفينة وإحكامها وإتقانها ، وأن يحمل فيها من كل زوجين اثنين ، أي : ذكرا وأنثى من كل صنف من الحيوانات والنباتات والثمار ، وغير ذلك ، وأن يحمل فيها أهله ( إلا من سبق عليه القول ) أي : سبق فيه القول من الله بالهلاك ، وهم الذين لم يؤمنوا به من أهله ، كابنه وزوجته ، والله أعلم .

وقوله : ( ولا تخاطبني في الذين ظلموا إنهم مغرقون ) أي : عند معاينة إنزال المطر العظيم ، لا تأخذنك رأفة بقومك ، وشفقة عليهم ، وطمع في تأخيرهم لعلهم يؤمنون ، فإني قد قضيت أنهم مغرقون على ما هم عليه من الكفر والطغيان . وقد تقدمت القصة مبسوطة في سورة " هود " بما يغني عن إعادة ذلك هاهنا .
