Surah Ash-Shu'araa, Verse 166

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
Word by word
وَتَذَرُونَ watadharūna And you leave مَا mā what خَلَقَ khalaqa created لَكُمْ lakum for you رَبُّكُم rabbukum your Lord مِّنْ min of أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ azwājikum your mates بَلْ bal Nay أَنتُمْ antum you قَوْمٌ qawmun (are) a people عَادُونَ ʿādūna transgressing
Transliteration
Watatharoona ma khalaqa lakumrabbukum min azwajikum bal antum qawmun AAadoon
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
"And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!"
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
لما نهاهم نبي الله عن ارتكاب الفواحش وغشيانهم الذكور وأرشدهم إلى إتيان نسائهم اللاتي خلقهن الله لهم ما كان جوابهم له.
