Quran 30:35
Surah Ar-Room, Verse 35

أَمْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنًا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يُشْرِكُونَ
Word by word
أَمْ am Or أَنزَلْنَا anzalnā have We sent عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim to them سُلْطَـٰنًۭا sul'ṭānan an authority فَهُوَ fahuwa and it يَتَكَلَّمُ yatakallamu speaks بِمَا bimā of what كَانُوا۟ kānū they were بِهِۦ bihi with Him يُشْرِكُونَ yush'rikūna associating
Transliteration
Am anzalna AAalayhim sultananfahuwa yatakallamu bima kanoo bihi yushrikoon
Translations

Or have We revealed unto them any warrant which speaketh of that which they associate with Him?

Or have We sent down authority to them, which points out to them the things to which they pay part-worship?
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
( أم أنزلنا عليهم سلطانا ) أي : حجة ( فهو يتكلم ) أي : ينطق ( بما كانوا به يشركون ) ؟ وهذا استفهام إنكار ، أي : لم يكن [ لهم ] شيء من ذلك .
