Quran 35:24

Surah Faatir, Verse 24

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَإِن مِّنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِيهَا نَذِيرٌ

Word by word

إِنَّآ innā Indeed, We أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ arsalnāka [We] have sent you بِٱلْحَقِّ bil-ḥaqi with the truth بَشِيرًۭا bashīran (as) a bearer of glad tidings وَنَذِيرًۭا ۚ wanadhīran and (as) a warner وَإِن wa-in And not مِّنْ min (was) any أُمَّةٍ ummatin nation إِلَّا illā but خَلَا khalā had passed فِيهَا fīhā within it نَذِيرٌۭ nadhīrun a warner

Transliteration

Inna arsalnaka bilhaqqibasheeran wanatheeran wa-in min ommatin illa khalafeeha natheer

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Lo! We have sent thee with the Truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner; and there is not a nation but a warner hath passed among them.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people, without a warner having lived among them (in the past).

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

( إنا أرسلناك بالحق بشيرا ونذيرا ) أي : بشيرا للمؤمنين ونذيرا للكافرين ، ( وإن من أمة إلا خلا فيها نذير ) أي : وما من أمة خلت من بني آدم إلا وقد بعث الله إليهم النذر ، وأزاح عنهم العلل ، كما قال تعالى : ( إنما أنت منذر ولكل قوم هاد ) [ الرعد : 7 ] ، وكما قال تعالى : ( ولقد بعثنا في كل أمة رسولا أن اعبدوا الله واجتنبوا الطاغوت فمنهم من هدى الله ومنهم من حقت عليه الضلالة ) الآية [ النحل : 136 ] ، والآيات في هذا كثيرة .
