Quran 36:74
Surah Yaseen, Verse 74

وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
Word by word
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ wa-ittakhadhū But they have taken مِن min besides دُونِ dūni besides ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah ءَالِهَةًۭ ālihatan gods لَّعَلَّهُمْ laʿallahum that they may يُنصَرُونَ yunṣarūna be helped
Transliteration
Wattakhathoo min dooni Allahialihatan laAAallahum yunsaroon
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
And they have taken (other) gods beside Allah, in order that they may be helped.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
Yet they take (for worship) gods other than Allah, (hoping) that they might be helped!
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
يقول تعالى منكرا على المشركين في اتخاذهم الأنداد آلهة مع الله ، يبتغون بذلك أن تنصرهم تلك الآلهة وترزقهم وتقربهم إلى الله زلفى .
