Quran 37:20
Surah As-Saaffaat, Verse 20

وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
Word by word
وَقَالُوا۟ waqālū And they will say يَـٰوَيْلَنَا yāwaylanā O woe to us هَـٰذَا hādhā This يَوْمُ yawmu (is the) Day ٱلدِّينِ l-dīni (of) the Recompense
Transliteration
Waqaloo ya waylana hathayawmu addeen
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!"
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
يخبر تعالى عن قيل الكفار يوم القيامة أنهم يرجعون على أنفسهم بالملامة ، ويعترفون بأنهم كانوا ظالمين لأنفسهم في الدار الدنيا ، فإذا عاينوا أهوال القيامة ندموا كل الندم حيث لا ينفعهم الندم ، ( وقالوا يا ويلنا هذا يوم الدين ) .
