كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو ٱلْأَوْتَادِ

كَذَّبَتْ kadhabat Denied قَبْلَهُمْ qablahum before them قَوْمُ qawmu (the) people نُوحٍۢ nūḥin (of) Nuh وَعَادٌۭ waʿādun and Aad وَفِرْعَوْنُ wafir'ʿawnu and Firaun ذُو dhū (the) owner ٱلْأَوْتَادِ l-awtādi (of) the stakes
Transliteration
Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohinwaAAadun wafirAAawnu thoo al-awtad

The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted,

يقول تعالى مخبرا عن هؤلاء القرون الماضية ، وما حل بهم من العذاب والنكال والنقمات في مخالفة الرسل وتكذيب الأنبياء وقد تقدمت قصصهم مبسوطة في أماكن متعددة .
