Quran 38:13

Surah Saad, Verse 13

وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ

Word by word

وَثَمُودُ wathamūdu And Thamud وَقَوْمُ waqawmu and (the) people لُوطٍۢ lūṭin (of) Lut وَأَصْحَـٰبُ wa-aṣḥābu and (the) companions لْـَٔيْكَةِ ۚ al'aykati (of) the wood أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ulāika Those ٱلْأَحْزَابُ l-aḥzābu (were) the companies

Transliteration

Wathamoodu waqawmu lootin waas-habual-aykati ola-ika al-ahzab

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And (the tribe of) Thamud, and the folk of Lot, and the dwellers in the wood: these were the factions.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( أولئك الأحزاب ) أي : كانوا أكثر منكم وأشد قوة وأكثر أموالا وأولادا فما دافع ذلك عنهم من عذاب الله من شيء لما جاء أمر ربك ولهذا قال :
