Quran 39:44

Surah Az-Zumar, Verse 44

قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُ جَمِيعًا لَّهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

Word by word

قُل qul Say لِّلَّهِ lillahi To Allah (belongs) ٱلشَّفَـٰعَةُ l-shafāʿatu the intercession جَمِيعًۭا ۖ jamīʿan all لَّهُۥ lahu For Him مُلْكُ mul'ku (is the) dominion ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ wal-arḍi and the earth ثُمَّ thumma Then إِلَيْهِ ilayhi to Him تُرْجَعُونَ tur'jaʿūna you will be returned

Transliteration

Qul lillahi ashshafaAAatujameeAAan lahu mulku assamawati wal-ardithumma ilayhi turjaAAoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Say: Unto Allah belongeth all intercession. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. And afterward unto Him ye will be brought back.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

Say: "To Allah belongs exclusively (the right to grant) intercession: to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: In the End, it is to Him that ye shall be brought back."

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

ثم قال : قل : أي يا محمد لهؤلاء الزاعمين أن ما اتخذوه شفعاء لهم عند الله ، أخبرهم أن الشفاعة لا تنفع عند الله إلا لمن ارتضاه وأذن له ، فمرجعها كلها إليه ، ( من ذا الذي يشفع عنده إلا بإذنه ) [ البقرة : 255 ] .

( له ملك السماوات والأرض ) أي : هو المتصرف في جميع ذلك . ( ثم إليه ترجعون ) أي : يوم القيامة ، فيحكم بينكم بعدله ، ويجزي كلا بعمله .
