Quran 40:80

Surah Al-Ghaafir, Verse 80

وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا۟ عَلَيْهَا حَاجَةً فِى صُدُورِكُمْ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ

Word by word

وَلَكُمْ walakum And for you فِيهَا fīhā in them مَنَـٰفِعُ manāfiʿu (are) benefits وَلِتَبْلُغُوا۟ walitablughū and that you may reach عَلَيْهَا ʿalayhā through them حَاجَةًۭ ḥājatan a need فِى fī (that is) in صُدُورِكُمْ ṣudūrikum your breasts وَعَلَيْهَا waʿalayhā and upon them وَعَلَى waʿalā and upon ٱلْفُلْكِ l-ful'ki the ships تُحْمَلُونَ tuḥ'malūna you are carried

Transliteration

Walakum feeha manafiAAuwalitablughoo AAalayha hajatan fee sudoorikumwaAAalayha waAAala alfulki tuhmaloon

(Many) benefits ye have from them - and that ye may satisfy by their means a need that is in your breasts, and may be borne upon them as upon the ship.

And there are (other) advantages in them for you (besides); that ye may through them attain to any need (there may be) in your hearts; and on them and on ships ye are carried.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

فالإبل تركب وتؤكل وتحلب ، ويحمل عليها الأثقال في الأسفار والرحال إلى البلاد النائية ، والأقطار الشاسعة . والبقر تؤكل ، ويشرب لبنها ، وتحرث عليها الأرض . والغنم تؤكل ، ويشرب لبنها ، والجميع تجز أصوافها وأشعارها وأوبارها ، فيتخذ منها الأثاث والثياب والأمتعة كما فصل وبين في أماكن تقدم ذكرها في " سورة الأنعام " ، و " سورة النحل " ، وغير ذلك ; ولهذا قال هاهنا : ( لتركبوا منها ومنها تأكلون . ولكم فيها منافع ولتبلغوا عليها حاجة في صدوركم وعليها وعلى الفلك تحملون ) .

وقوله : ( ويريكم آياته ) أي : حججه وبراهينه في الآفاق وفي أنفسكم ، ( فأي آيات الله تنكرون ) أي : لا تقدرون على إنكار شيء من آياته ، إلا أن تعاندوا وتكابروا .
