Quran 42:11

Surah Ash-Shura, Verse 11

فَاطِرُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا وَمِنَ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ أَزْوَٰجًا يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِۦ شَىْءٌ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْبَصِيرُ

Word by word

فَاطِرُ fāṭiru (The) Creator ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti (of) the heavens وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ wal-arḍi and the earth جَعَلَ jaʿala He made لَكُم lakum for you مِّنْ min from أَنفُسِكُمْ anfusikum yourselves أَزْوَٰجًۭا azwājan mates وَمِنَ wamina and among ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ l-anʿāmi the cattle أَزْوَٰجًۭا ۖ azwājan mates يَذْرَؤُكُمْ yadhra-ukum He multiplies you فِيهِ ۚ fīhi thereby لَيْسَ laysa (There) is not كَمِثْلِهِۦ kamith'lihi like Him شَىْءٌۭ ۖ shayon anything وَهُوَ wahuwa and He ٱلسَّمِيعُ l-samīʿu (is) the All-Hearer ٱلْبَصِيرُ l-baṣīru the All-Seer

Transliteration

Fatiru assamawatiwal-ardi jaAAala lakum min anfusikum azwajanwamina al-anAAami azwajan yathraokum feehilaysa kamithlihi shay-on wahuwa assameeAAu albaseer

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He hath made for you pairs of yourselves, and of the cattle also pairs, whereby He multiplieth you. Naught is as His likeness; and He is the Hearer, the Seer.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(He is) the Creator of the heavens and the earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does He multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things).

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( فاطر السموات والأرض ) أي : خالقهما وما بينهما ، ( جعل لكم من أنفسكم أزواجا ) أي : من جنسكم وشكلكم ، منة عليكم وتفضلا جعل من جنسكم ذكرا وأنثى ، ( ومن الأنعام أزواجا ) أي : وخلق لكم من الأنعام ثمانية أزواج .

وقوله : ( يذرؤكم فيه ) أي : يخلقكم فيه ، أي : في ذلك الخلق على هذه الصفة لا يزال يذرؤكم فيه ذكورا وإناثا ، خلقا من بعد خلق ، وجيلا بعد جيل ، ونسلا بعد نسل ، من الناس والأنعام .

وقال البغوي رحمه الله : ( يذرؤكم فيه ) أي : في الرحم . وقيل : في البطن . وقيل : في هذا الوجه من الخلقة .

قال مجاهد : ونسلا بعد نسل من الناس والأنعام .

وقيل : " في " بمعنى " الباء " ، أي : يذرؤكم به .

( ليس كمثله شيء ) أي : ليس كخالق الأزواج كلها شيء ; لأنه الفرد الصمد الذي لا نظير له ، ( وهو السميع البصير )
