Quran 54:34

Surah Al-Qamar, Verse 34

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ نَّجَّيْنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٍ

Word by word

إِنَّآ innā Indeed, We أَرْسَلْنَا arsalnā [We] sent عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim upon them حَاصِبًا ḥāṣiban a storm of stones إِلَّآ illā except ءَالَ āla (the) family لُوطٍۢ ۖ lūṭin (of) Lut نَّجَّيْنَـٰهُم najjaynāhum We saved them بِسَحَرٍۢ bisaḥarin by dawn

Transliteration

Inna arsalna AAalayhim hasibanilla ala lootin najjaynahum bisahar

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night,

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,-

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

( إنا أرسلنا عليهم حاصبا ) وهي : الحجارة ، ( إلا آل لوط نجيناهم بسحر ) أي : خرجوا من آخر الليل فنجوا مما أصاب قومهم ، ولم يؤمن بلوط من قومه أحد ولا رجل واحد حتى ولا امرأته ، أصابها ما أصاب قومها ، وخرج نبي الله لوط وبنات له من بين أظهرهم سالما لم يمسسه سوء ; ولهذا قال تعالى :
