Quran 6:48

Surah Al-An'aam, Verse 48

وَمَا نُرْسِلُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ فَمَنْ ءَامَنَ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

Word by word

وَمَا wamā And not نُرْسِلُ nur'silu We send ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ l-mur'salīna the Messengers إِلَّا illā except مُبَشِّرِينَ mubashirīna (as) bearer of glad tidings وَمُنذِرِينَ ۖ wamundhirīna and (as) warners فَمَنْ faman So whoever ءَامَنَ āmana believed وَأَصْلَحَ wa-aṣlaḥa and reformed فَلَا falā then no خَوْفٌ khawfun fear عَلَيْهِمْ ʿalayhim upon them وَلَا walā and not هُمْ hum they يَحْزَنُونَ yaḥzanūna will grieve

Transliteration

Wama nursilu almursaleena illamubashshireena wamunthireena faman amana waaslahafala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoon

Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

We send not the messengers save as bearers of good news and warners. Whoso believeth and doeth right, there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

We send the messengers only to give good news and to warn: so those who believe and mend (their lives),- upon them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( وما نرسل المرسلين إلا مبشرين ومنذرين ) أي : مبشرين عباد الله المؤمنين بالخيرات ومنذرين من كفر بالله النقمات والعقوبات . ولهذا قال [ سبحانه وتعالى ] ( فمن آمن وأصلح ) أي : فمن آمن قلبه بما جاءوا به وأصلح عمله باتباعه إياهم ( فلا خوف عليهم ) أي : بالنسبة إلى ما يستقبلونه ( ولا هم يحزنون ) أي : بالنسبة إلى ما فاتهم وتركوه وراء ظهورهم من أمر الدنيا وصنيعها ، الله وليهم فيما خلفوه ، وحافظهم فيما تركوه .
