Quran 6:49
Surah Al-An'aam, Verse 49

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَمَسُّهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ
Word by word
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna And those who كَذَّبُوا۟ kadhabū denied بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا biāyātinā [in] Our Verses يَمَسُّهُمُ yamassuhumu will touch them ٱلْعَذَابُ l-ʿadhābu the punishment بِمَا bimā for what كَانُوا۟ kānū they used to يَفْسُقُونَ yafsuqūna defiantly disobey
Transliteration
Wallatheena kaththaboobi-ayatina yamassuhumu alAAathabu bimakanoo yafsuqoon
Translations
Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall
But as for those who deny Our revelations, torment will afflict them for that they used to disobey.
Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali
But those who reject our signs,- them shall punishment touch, for that they ceased not from transgressing.
تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
ثم قال : ( والذين كذبوا بآياتنا يمسهم العذاب بما كانوا يفسقون ) أي : ينالهم العذاب بما كفروا بما جاءت به الرسل ، وخرجوا عن أوامر الله وطاعته ، وارتكبوا محارمه ومناهيه وانتهاك حرماته .
