Quran 73:9

Surah Al-Muzzammil, Verse 9

رَّبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا

Word by word

رَّبُّ rabbu (The) Lord ٱلْمَشْرِقِ l-mashriqi (of) the east وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ wal-maghribi and the west لَآ lā (there is) no إِلَـٰهَ ilāha god إِلَّا illā except هُوَ huwa Him فَٱتَّخِذْهُ fa-ittakhidh'hu so take Him وَكِيلًۭا wakīlan (as) Disposer of Affairs

Transliteration

Rabbu almashriqi walmaghribi lailaha illa huwa fattakhithhu wakeela

Translations

Lord of the East and the West; there is no Allah save Him; so choose thou Him alone for thy defender -

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

(He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir

وقوله : ( رب المشرق والمغرب لا إله إلا هو فاتخذه وكيلا ) أي : هو المالك المتصرف في المشارق والمغارب لا إله إلا هو ، وكما أفردته بالعبادة فأفرده بالتوكل ، ( فاتخذه وكيلا ) كما قال في الآية الأخرى : ( فاعبده وتوكل عليه ) [ هود : 123 ] وكقوله : ( إياك نعبد وإياك نستعين ) وآيات كثيرة في هذا المعنى ، فيها الأمر بإفراد العبادة والطاعة لله ، وتخصيصه بالتوكل عليه .
