لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ

لَّا lā Not يُسْمِنُ yus'minu it nourishes وَلَا walā and not يُغْنِى yugh'nī it avails مِن min from جُوعٍۢ jūʿin hunger
Transliteration
La yusminu wala yughnee minjooAA
Translations

Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger.

تفسير ابن كثير — Ismail ibn Kathir
يعني لا يحصل به مقصود ولا يندفع به محذور.
