بِّسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 1

   إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ

   Pickthall

   Lo! We revealed it on the Night of Predestination.

2. 2

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ

   Pickthall

   Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Night of Power is!

3. 3

   لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ

   Pickthall

   The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.

4. 4

   تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ

   Pickthall

   The angels and the Spirit descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with all decrees.

5. 5

   سَلَٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ

   Pickthall

   (The night is) Peace until the rising of the dawn.

About Surah Al-Qadr

Surah Al-Qadr is the 97th surah of the Quran: a Makki surah of 5 verses in para 30.

It says the Quran was sent down on Laylat al-Qadr, a night better than a thousand months (97:1–3), when the angels and the Spirit descend by permission of their Lord, and which is peace until the break of dawn (97:4–5).

What is the meaning of Surah Al-Qadr?

Al-Qadr means “Power” or “Decree”, after the Night of Decree on which the Quran was sent down (97:1).
